Hurricanes and Typhoons

Hurricanes are named primarily to avoid confusion and aid tracking, a practice several hundred years old. The World Meteorological Organization, in 1979, established six yearly lists of names for Atlantic hurricanes, used in a rotation. This list only changes if a storm gains notoriety as particularly deadly or costly, to prevent the inappropriate use of a name in the future. Prior to 1978, hurricanes only had women’s names. These might be cool names for robots, programs, or servers, or maybe clueless aliens. More information here:

These are named by various Pacific rim nations who each submit ten at a time, so they are incongruous and diverse and of both male and female gender with an Asian flair. Good code names, perhaps?
